Training

Training is critical in enhancing competency of our staff. HSE training forms a big part of the company training program and is a critical part of our systems. Employees undergo various HSE training depending on their roles within the business. Training modules are designed for Truck drivers, mechanics, welders and emergency response teams. Dangerous Goods crew are also specially trained for transporting chemicals FMS TRANSPORT is officially registered and licensed with The United Republic of Tanzania Ministry of Health and Welfare – Government Chemist Laboratory Agency (GCLA) to transport non-hazardous Dry Chemicals (TRANSIT)

Drivers

All drivers are carefully pre-selected by our Human Resource Department by referral from our existing lead drivers. Thereafter the candidates are subject to a questionnaire for assessment of their experience and knowledge of the routes currently operated, border documental procedures, mechanical knowledge and occupational health and safety awareness. Drivers are road tested to assess their ability to drive in a manner that ensures the integrity of our vehicles and other vehicles and persons on the road. Finally, all drivers undergo training of company policies, maintenance procedures, safety procedures and documentation procedures to ensure that their performance in up to company requirements.

Cargo Training

We have round-the-clock manned GPS system for tracking of cargo and the fleet thereby ensuring safety and accuracy and on-time delivery of your valuable cargo. Delivering your cargo on time means we save your time and money. This also helps in ensuring your cargo is delivered timely and securely.

Our Fleets

Our large fleet of vehicles exclusively comprises of well-maintained GPS integrated trucks along with trailers ranging from box-body, low-bed, flat beds and skeletons to meet our clients’ diverse cargo requirements. We own and operate a fleet of more than 190 vehicles monitored by specialized logistic software to track the status of your cargo at all times, ensure accurate delivery times and manage driver fatigue and safety.

Maintenance

All our vehicles are serviced after every trip and preventative maintenance is performed to ensure trucks are always in the best working order prior to any departure. Our workshops area is duly equipped with qualified staffs in the field of general mechanics, welding, electrical, tires and air.

Our tire maintenance and monitoring is performed by highly qualified technicians under the supervision of our service providers, well reputed and experienced local companies, replacing or retreading when needed to ensure that tires are up to minimum performance and safety standard. We have our workshop team that meticulously looking after every component of our fleet to keep them running reliably.
